Lima, Ohio, October 14, 2015 —
The Sixth Annual Lima Zombie Walk will start at the Main Street Square in Downtown Lima on Saturday, October 31, 2015. The Zombies will gather at 1:30 pm and the walk will begin at 2 pm. Immediately following the walk, the zombie category at the Halloween ComicFest costume contest will begin in front of Alter Ego Comics.
For the uninitiated, the Zombie Walk is a simple and fun concept – wear your grubbiest zombie gear, lurch your way down the street with the other zombies and stay in character, grunting and slurring on the hunt for fresh brains and flesh. The Walk is a family-friendly event.
Speaking of costumes, this year marks the Second Annual Spooky Pooch Parade! That’s right, bring out your pets in their costumed finest to strut their stuff across the stage at 1:00 pm to win prizes!
This year the Zombie Walk and Spooky Pooch Parade will be held during the Alter Ego Comics’ Halloween ComicFest. There will be a number of events throughout the day with a free comic book giveaway by Alter Ego Comics and cool guest appearances.
Donations from the Zombie Walk will help fund local pet rescue Happy Tails Pup Partners. Happy Tails rescues unwanted and neglected doggies, provides foster families, supplies medical treatment and training and adopts dogs out to good ‘furever’ homes. Organizers do suggest, at least, a $3 donation from participants and friends, although donations are certainly optional AND the ComicFest is free!
Everyone is invited! It doesn’t matter if you walk or watch as zombies take over Lima!
