After reading in USA Today the top ten haunted attractions in the country and discovering it was number one for the Readers Choice Award, and also just a little over an hour away, I had to go. I’m talking about the one and only Lewisburg Haunted Cave located about twenty minutes west of Dayton, Ohio. Upon arrival, parking was free and hassle-free. I purchased an adult ticket for 18 bucks and then waited in a line full of eager fellow haunt enthusiasts and we moved along at a good pace. Next, a descent down the mine entrance to about 80 feet below the surface and the scares begin immediately. Starts off on a long bridge and this haunt is definitely not for the faint of heart. The Haunted Cave had it all, great character actors, animatronics, sick props, lights, and mazes. They spared nothing and had a great eye for detail in the many different sets that utilized just about every concept imaginable for a haunt. I’m not going to spoil any of the surprises, but I will warn you that there will be some contact and they are masters at the jump scare! The finale is spectacular as you meet a creature that is truly amazing and ginormous in size! It took about an hour to make it through the cave with all the mazes and corridors, so I would consider that one hell of a deal for the price. In fact, the haunt has been recognized by the Guinness Book as the worlds longest haunt. I have been to numerous haunts over the years and I was blown away by the Haunted Cave and would have to say it was the best of the best. I urge everybody to give them a visit and see for yourselves how amazing the Lewisburg Haunted Cave is! Stay Scared!
